Mitch and Nicole’s Gorgeous Wedding at the Historic Howell Opera House
When I first met Nicole and Mitch I instantly knew that they shared a love that would defy time. Seeing them together made you feel at ease, that everything was right with the world. Perfect and beautiful. Love makes your heart smile from the inside out, and everyone around you can feel it. This is what I love most about being a wedding photographer, I get to be around something so amazing all the time and share such a special day with amazing couples.
Everything about their wedding day was magical. The fresh falling snow turned the day into a beautiful winter wonderland. Mitch and Nicole read their vows and shared their love for each other in front of family and friends at All Saints Wedding Chapel located in the charming, historic downtown Howell. The chapel was filled with a warming glow from the sun light seeping in through the stained glass lancet windows. Nicole looked absolutely stunning! She wore a gorgeous, elegant, lace dress with a birdcage veil and her smile was so infectious that you couldn’t help but smile when you were around her. Nicole choose to share a first look with her father before the ceremony, and it is moments like these that make my tears flow. I am such a daddy’s girl and live for these moments.
The reception was held at the Historic Howell Opera house, and WOW what a gorgeous location. This 3 story, late Victorian opera house was built-in 1881. It is housed by red brick walls, with a beautiful handcrafted staircase that leads you to the original theatre. The theatre was closed in 1924, but the 1881 theater still remains untouched. You can imagine my excitement when Nicole told me that she would like to take their wedding portraits in the theater. I loved everything about it and Nicole and Mitch you totally rocked it.
The reception was just as beautiful as everything else had been that day. There were strands of twinkling white lights, handpicked and homemade strawberry rhubarb and concord grape jelly with a cute little note that said “spread the love”. But my favorite was the bible that Nicole and Mitch had set out with a sign saying “sign our bible & highlight your favorite verse. I felt it only appropriate to end this blog with my favorite verse. Mitch and Nicole I wish for you nothing less than the happily ever after that you always dreamed of.
